Across Texas, drive-thru coffee stands and kiosks fill the gap in suburbs and along highways, and roasters often sell bags and brewing gear at the counter. Check the listing for hours, whether the cafe takes mobile orders, and its Google rating and recent reviews; parking is easiest at suburban locations, while downtown shops rely on street meters or nearby garages. Austin is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Traffic in Austin peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. This was our 2nd visit at Barrett’s and we really loved their Ethiopia Gedeb Natural Gotiti Tiguan roast and decided to buy two bags this time to try out. This time we bought Decaf Sugarcane Mexico Esmeralda and their Yirgacheffe Washed Organic Konga and both seem to be in the light to medium roast. I think the person at the front said majority of their roasts are like that unless otherwise specific which works for us since light and medium roasts are our favourites! The bags were about $27/ea but it also comes with a free drink. So we also ordered a cortado and a flaming moe (July special). I like orange bitters so I loved my drink! My husband enjoyed his cortado. The vibe in the store is laid back, organic, and super cozy with all the warm woods and plant clippings in various pots. Cant wait to come back and try more beans and also some food since we saw they had breakfast tacos aswell!

I tried this place for the first time the other day. I got one of the July specials, the Spice Girl latte iced and the barista told me you get less coffee with this and asked if that's OK. She pointed at the glass a bit below the top and I told her that's fine. Well, the drink I got wasn't even half full. I mean, throw in a bit more ice or milk to make it look fuller than that. I ended up running to the grocery store and getting a 16 oz bottle of milk to add to the latte. I might try this place again, but I'd not get one of the specials.

LOVE their June special coffee!! I forgot the name but it’s Sicilian coffee with apricot purΓ©e? The flavor blended in together so well that I can taste them together but separately at the same time. Love the balance of everything! It’s also very pretty. I wish I took a picture of it Great vibes too! Thanks for being a dog friendly coffee shop 🩷

The Mexican cold brew is my favorite cold brew in Austin. The coffee and espresso is great here and still reasonably priced. They have decent breakfast/lunch tacos if you need a snack. Parking is tight, but you can do it. The staff is lovely and the service is wonderful.

Real California vibes: everything inside is original style from an old school coffee shop and comfy. Wood stools and bench, some tables, coffee decorations everywhere It s like an old Venice Beach loft. Large coffee selection (cold brew, flat white, iced latte, infused stuff) and the taste is excellent: balanced, not too bitter. Feels authentic and rootsy, not industrial. In a walkable neighborhood, it’s the perfect place to work remotely. Outdoor table available as well, i-Fi, chill vibe without being loud. Great for a quick drink or some hours with your laptop. Going back as soon as i ll swing by Austin again.
